Gallaudet University Update?

What happened with all of the arrests?  Seems like there are no new diaries on this topic.

I've had people dismiss this protest in conversation because the deaf students have, to quote others in these conversations, an "outrageous sense of perogative."

An example argument about the protesters:

The Gallaudet protesters "object to the fact the woman who was selected grew up in a hearing household. It's not enough that she'd deaf and primarily communicates by sign, but the fact that her parents don't communicate primarily by sign is what is unacceptable."

Anyone have links that support or counter this point?  I thought I saw comments on Joseph Rainmound's diary to the effect that Jane Fernandes doesn't sign much, but I can't seem to put my finger on that comment again.
